Very Berry Chocolate Waffles

Ingredients

  • 2 Cups All-Purpose Flour
  • 1/4 Cup Cocoa Powder
  • 1/2 Tsp Salt
  • 2 Tbsp Sugar
  • 1 Tbsp Baking Powder
  • 3 Eggs Separated
  • 4 Tbsp Melted Unsalted Butter
  • 1 Tsp Vanilla Extract
  • 1 Cup Milk
  • 1 Cup Buttermilk
  • 1 Cup Fresh Berries Blueberries, Blackberries & Raspberries

Instructions

  • Add all your dry ingredients to a large mixing bowl and whisk everything to combine.
  • Separate the egg yolks and white. Place your eggwhite into a clean bowl.
  • Mix the milk, buttermilk, egg yolks, melted butter, and vanilla extract. Pour this mixture into dry ingredients and whisk until everything well combined.
  • Now, whisk the egg whites using a hand mixer or stand mixer to stiff pick.
  • Fold your whipped egg white gently into the batter.
  • Heat your waffle iron, measure out the batter depending on the size of your waffle iron, and pour into your waffle iron.
  • Cook your waffle for 5 to 7 minutes until light brown and crispy.
  • Serve your Waffles with a drizzle of powder sugar, fresh berries, and maple syrup.

Notes

Serving Suggestion: To keep your waffle warm, layer them on a rack and into 180F Oven. There are endless ways to serve your waffles, serve them with sweet whipped cream or a scoop of your favorite ice-cream, with some fresh fruits. Also, you can drizzle powder sugar, your favorite maple syrup, or your favorite jam.
